When you open your browser (most likely by double-clicking on the Explorer or Netscape browser icon on your desktop), the browser will usually open with a default web page already loaded into the main browser window. It might be a blank screen if the page cannot be found because you are offline or the server on which the page is located is down (ie not responding). It could also be an error message page.

If you want to load a new web page into the browser window all you need to do is to type the new web page address/URL into this location box and press enter.
